Summary

The iLikePDF tools work on files you choose on your own device. They read the file in your browser and create the result there. The tools do not upload your files to our servers.

1. How files are processed

When you select a file in a tool, your browser reads it into memory and JavaScript running on the page creates the output. Your browser then saves the result to your device. Closing or refreshing the tab releases the memory that held the file. We do not receive, store or inspect the contents of your files.

Tool pages load open-source helper libraries when a feature needs them: pdf-lib, PDF.js and JSZip from the public unpkg content-delivery network, and Tesseract.js (text recognition) and heic2any (HEIC conversion) from the public jsDelivr network. The text recognition tools also download language data for the language you choose from a public server the first time you use them. Loading these files sends a normal web request to those networks, which can see technical details such as your IP address and browser type. Your files are not part of those requests. Handwriting and signature fonts are served from this website.

2. Information stored on your device

The site uses your browser's local storage for two convenience settings: your light or dark theme, and the list of tools you save as favorites on the home page. This data stays in your browser. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

3. Server logs

Like most websites, the service that hosts this site may keep standard server logs, such as the pages requested, the time of the request, your IP address and browser type. We do not link these logs to the contents of any file, because files never reach the server.

4. Analytics and advertising

iLikePDF uses third-party vendors, including Google, to serve ads and to measure site traffic. Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can also visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising.
  • We may use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate — this data does not include the files you process, which never leave your browser.
  • A cookie-consent banner is shown on your first visit so you can accept or decline non-essential cookies; your choice is remembered in your browser.

Advertising and analytics cookies are separate from the file-processing tools on this site: no PDF, image, or other file you upload into a tool is ever sent to an ad or analytics vendor, because those tools run entirely in your browser as described in Section 1.

5. Your files and your responsibilities

You keep all rights in the documents and images you process. Because the work happens on your device, keeping that device secure is your responsibility. Some tools are limited versions (Compress PDF, Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, OCR PDF); each tool page explains what the tool does today. In particular, do not rely on a limited tool to protect a sensitive document.

iLikePDF does not claim any certification or compliance status under privacy or industry regulations. If your work is subject to such rules, check with the person responsible for compliance before you use any online tool.

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
